Notes on the improvement of the "Adventure Game".
The general intent of these improvements is to increase the
scope for the imagination of the players. Here are some ideas.
1. Allow the players to program strategies, e.g. program the
game in LISP and let the players write LISP programs.
2. Let the players recruit help from gnomes (or even dwarfs) by
asking them to do things, threatening them or meeting their demands.
Players can also get information by asking gnomes for it when they
meet them. A gnome will know how he got here from a treasure if he has
been in its room.
Gnomes might also ask for help against the dwarfs.
It should be possible to fight the pirate with some probability of
driving him off. It should be possible to trap him with the help
of the bear and necessary to do so in order to prevent him from
defending his stolen treasure.
3. Allow some kinds of physical constructions. Piles of things to
climb on or building ladders out of trees. Objects may be combined
to make new ones or even broken apart to make two. Objects like
coins and jewels should be regarded as plural, i.e. it should be
possible to put one coin in the vending machine.
